An Executive Learning Tour in Kamakura

Embody the samurai mind, through zen.

Two days in Kamakura where zen stillness, the discipline of the sword, and the mountain paths the warriors walked sharpen the way you lead.

philosophy

The samurai mind, met through zen.

For eight centuries the way of the samurai held together discipline, foresight, craft, and stillness — and zen was how it was trained. Retreat ZEN draws those threads into two deliberate days: a way of seeing that carries straight into how you lead.

The samurai's path

A guided walk along the Kewaizaka Kiridoshi, the historic cut-through pass into Kamakura.

Dawn zazen

Early-morning zazen and a private dialogue with the head priest at Engakuji Obain, before general admission.

Craft & mastery

A private demonstration in the lineage of Masamune, one of Japan's greatest swordsmiths.

Rest & reflection

Private sauna, garden, and machiya stillness at NIWA KAMAKURA between sessions.
